Emily Abrams is an Advisor and a member of the Leadership Team at Narva & Company.  Emily brings nearly twenty years of experience in family governance creation and board development to the firm’s multidisciplinary team. Her particular expertise as director of Narva & Company’s board search practice is her unusually gifted sense for recruiting talent with both the desired expertise and just the right cultural fit for clients’ councils of advisors and boards of directors.

Emily also leads Narva & Company’s next generation education and mentoring programs, individually tailored for younger client family members to develop skills for family governance leadership roles or for successful entrance into the family firm.

Emily has been working with family enterprises for nearly two decades. She joined Narva & Company’s predecessor firm, Genus Resources, in 1997 and later transitioned to The Roseview Group, a boutique business advisory and investment banking firm, prior to the founding of Narva & Company.

Emily has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simmons College. Her early career in teaching and as an art museum educator serve her well in her education and mentoring roles with next generation clients. She is an active member of many volunteer and professional organizations, including The Boston Club, the community of women executives and professional leaders, where her membership on the Governance Committee, Art and Architecture Group, and The Boston Club Peer Mentoring Program support the organization’s mission and her personal passion to help women achieve positions of significant and visible leadership roles.

For many years Emily fostered her love for languages and culture by hosting international exchange students, creating a vibrant global family that continues to enrich her life. She lives in the Boston area close to her three daughters and five grandchildren.
